A rubble wall, built at the entrance to the property, serves the purpose of a decorative element that highlights the entrance and adds more sophistication to the design. The first-floor level of the house contains the living room and the next elevated floor level is comprised of the dining area, pantry and two bedrooms.
One of the most interesting design is the incorporation of the Sri Lankan Traditional attic concept in to the design. If taken the structure of the house separately, it is built as two solid rectangular blocks – and the upper floor levels of the two blocks are connected with a wooden deck, instead of using a concrete slab. The deck is inspired by the traditional Sri Lankan attic. The upper level of one block has the master bedroom and the other block has the shared bedroom designed for the two daughters. The access to the two rooms are given through the wooden deck which also functions has a TV lounge.
The titanium flooring also adds a more contemporary look fused with the elements of traditional architecture. The use of earthy red and yellow juxtaposes the white walls creating an aesthetic ambience.
